Christian Men at Work Podcast

Jun 17, 2019

What You'll Hear:
  • Jesse became a Christian at the age of eleven.  His father struggled with alcoholism and his mother struggled with depression.
  • His Dad was in and out of jail and his Dad wouldn't let Jesse and his sister talk to each other
  • Jesse was in his room while his parents were arguing and he heard a voice in his head that he had spiritual gifts and he just needed to stick to life and to read the Bible
  • Once he got to high school he started going to church and learned that he was accepted by God as he was
  • His parents divorced when Jesse was in college. Jesse still talks to them. He has prayed a lot for them lately and is learning how to sow seeds one day at a time
  • When Jesse moved to Nashville to go to Belmont, he met a number of people that had an influence on him
  • Jesse planned to move to Tampa, but God had another plan
  • He prayed for a physical sign and God gave him one
  • Jesse wants his past to help him mentor others
  • He views faith like a bowling alley. Open gutters is like a life lacking faith.  Bumpers is like a walk of faith.
  • Be steadfast in prayer and be specific about what you pray
  • Jesse works with artists to help them get to the next level in their careers
  • While in college he was on the pre-med track.  He was doing well but wasn't happy.
  • He transferred to Belmont and started writing articles interviewing artists and realized that music was the pathway for what God wanted him to do
  • Jesse interviewed Jason Davis for a podcast interview and he spent 3-1/2 hours with him, mostly talking about God
  • Jesse became the tour manager for Austin French and then became involved in artist licensing
  • We're all given spiritual gifts.  Living out his faith is to serve.
  • Jesse writes out what he needs to accomplish in a day, he lives in the present and takes it day by day
  • In the secular festival realm, it can be a big party and there's a temptation to go along with that.
  • Always be up front and truthful with what your intentions are
  • You can take little steps at work to make a difference
  • Favorite scripture is Psalms 23:1-4
  • If we're not planting seeds with young people, there won't be anything to sprout
  • Rather than listening to something, Jesse gets quiet and meditates
  • jessewilder@comcast.net and on Facebook and Instagram
